SPbSUT scientists won the UN competition

The SPbSUT team is the winner of the prestigious international United Nations competition dedicated to virtual worlds. Our scientists entered the top 3 best teams.

The Competition “Virtual Worlds Revolutionizing Smart Sustainable Cities & Communities” was held among young researchers from all over the world in March – May 2024. The competition was held under the slogan “UN Metaverse Think-a-Thon” and brought together 69 teams from all continents.

The team of young researchers from the scientific school of Professor Andrey Kucheryavy decided to come up with a Holnetverse holographic universe project. The competition team included Ph.D., Associate Professor Artem Volkov, Ph.D., Associate Professor Ammar Saleh Ali Muthanna, Ph.D., Associate Professor Anastasia Marochkina, engineers Bogdan Pankov and Daniil Svechnikov.

The final took place on May, 8 at a meeting in Geneva in a virtual format. 3 winners were determined. Among the best is the team of SPbSUT.

"We couldn't believe it, but it happened. Our team is among the three winners of the competition! Our young scientists and specialists have defeated teams from all over the world!" said Professor Andrey Kucheryavy.

The award ceremony is scheduled on June 14 in Geneva, UN Virtual Worlds Day.

         Thanks to our team for the success, for preserving and developing the identity of Russian science! Congratulations!
