SPbSUT hosted a delegation from Vietnam and India last week. The delegation was represented by the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology Dr. Prof. Nguen Anh Tuan (Vietnam) and the founder and General Director of Starshot Ventures Mr. Skannd Tiagy (India). The notable guests were accompanied by the representative of the Informatization and Communication Committee of Saint Petersburg Government Alexey Pronichkin.
On behalf of the University the foreign delegation was welcomed by the Rector of the University Dr. Prof. Ruslan Kirichek, the First Vice-Rector and Vice Rector for Education Prof. Albert Abilov, Head of International Cooperation Department Yana Ilyinskaya and the staff of International Cooperation Department.
Rector Ruslan Kirichek introduced the international guests to the educational and research activity of the University. A successful and close collaboration of the University with the representatives of the IT branches, enterprises, research and manufacturing complex that enable creating and adopting of innovative and cutting-edge technologies and projects in IT sphere were in focus and accentuated in the prof Kirichek’s presentation.
“The latest and advanced equipment of the branded laboratories and classrooms, designed with the support of the University's partners, opens up new horizons for gaining knowledge and practicing practical skills that keep up with the times”, - the Rector said.
While discussing the issue of interrelationship with the Russian houses in India and Vietnam through Rossotrudnichestvo was arisen. Thus, Head of the International Cooperation Department Yana Ilyinskaya informed the guests on the opportunity of sending Vietnamese and Indian applicants to study at SPbSUT free of charge. The opportunity can be realized within the framework of the Russian Government quota for education of foreign citizens and stateless persons.
Further Dr. Tuan and Mr. Tiagy represented their educational institutions. They expressed great interest in establishing cooperation with the Bonch University, having remarked a high level of students’ training and the facilities of the academic activity.
"A high status of the University, rich experience in high-qualified personnel training, advanced infrastructure and educational and technical facilities of the faculties make SPbSUT attractive to foreign partners in terms of expanding the partnership network in the field of IT specialists training," International Cooperation Department noted.
The parties agreed to continue discussing cooperation issues via videoconference.
